Internationality / Interculturality 국제성/ 상호문화성

As an outgrowth of our last Chapter, we are working to be more intercultural, to move from being international, ministering in a several of lands with sisters from variety places, to becoming truly intercultural. We recognize that living in a monoculture community is very different from living in an intercultural community. For us to become an intercultural community, the place to start is with a deeper understanding of our own cultural identity and then to move beyond our personal culture to the cultural worlds of others.  We strive to live together both culturally and theologically as an example of possible intercultural collaboration in the world. One avenue open to us is Contemplative Dialogue, which promotes reflection and honest conversations with one another and moves from relying on personal insights to encouraging the wisdom of the group to emerge.

국제성 위원회는 지난 총회의 결과로 우리 공동체가 여러 지역에서 다양한 지역 출신의 수녀님들과 함께 사도직을 하면서 국제적인 공동체에서 더 나아가 이제는 진정한 상호문화적 공동체가 되도록 일하고 있습니다. 단일 문화공동체 안에서 사는 것과 상호문화적 공동체에서 사는 것은 매우 다르다는 것을 우리는 잘 알고 있습니다. 상호문화적 공동체를 이루기 위한 출발점은 먼저 우리 자신의 문화적 정체성을 더욱 깊이 이해하는 것입니다. 그리고 나서야 우리 개인의 문화를 넘어 다른 이들의 문화 안으로 들어갈 수 있습니다. 우리는 이 세상 안에서 상호문화적 협력의 가능성을 보여주는 본보기로써 문화적으로, 신학적으로 함께 살아가려고 노력합니다. 이를 위한 한 가지 방법은 관상적 대화입니다. 관상적 대화는 성찰과 진실한 대화를 증진하고, 개인적 통찰에 의존하기보다는 함께하는 그룹 안에서 떠오르는 공동의 지혜로 나아가게 합니다.
