Witness Beyond Frontiers with Ecology/Laudato Si ’ 생태/‘찬미 받으소서’ 로 경계를 넘어 증거하기

Following the spirituality of our Founder, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, we are called to reflect and mirror her appreciation for all of God’s creation. Elizabeth Seton said that “the nearer a soul is truly united to God, the more its sensibilities are increased to every being of God’s creation.” In light of this wisdom and as members of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill, we want to be instruments for healing, change, and mercy.
The interprovincial Ecology/Laudato Si’ Committee urges all to be aware and knowledgeable and to take action to lighten our footprint on earth and counteract injustice with compassion and love. The Constitutions, Article 6, reads: “We reverence the dignity of each person and of all creation. We commit ourselves to work for the protection of human rights and for the preservation of nature, affirming that action on behalf of peace and justice is fundamental to the mission of the church.”
A focus of the committee is to witness charity and justice to our wounded world. Moving forward we work to restore and protect the earth. Current members of the committee are: Sisters Sharon Carpenter, Laura Coughlin, Patrice Hughes, I Sak Jin, Mi Yeon Kim, Jin Young Lee, Helena No, He Chun Park, Mary Price, and Edith Strong.
찬미받으소서 위원회는 창설자 성녀 엘리사벳 앤 씨튼의 영성을 따르면서 하느님의 모든 창조물에 대해 창설자가 느낀 감사와 감동을 비추어보고 숙고합니다. 사랑의 씨튼 수녀회의 회원으로서 우리는 “영혼이 하느님께 일치되어 있으면 있을수록, 그분이 만드신 창조물에 대해 예민성을 갖게 됩니다.”라고 말씀하신 엘리사벳 씨튼의 지혜의 빛 안에서 치유와 변화, 자비의 도구가 되고자 합니다.
관구간 찬미받으소서 위원회는 우리 모두가 지구상에 남기는 우리의 생태 발자국을 줄이고 자비와 사랑으로 불의에 맞서도록 배우고 인식하며 행동을 취하도록 촉구합니다. 사랑의 씨튼 수녀회 회헌 6항은 ‘우리는 인간과 모든 창조물의 존엄성을 존중한다. 우리는 인권 보호와 자연 보존을 위한 일에 헌신하며, 평화와 정의를 위한 활동이 교회 선교의 근본임을 확인한다.’라고 하고 있습니다.
우리 위원회는 상처받은 세상에 사랑과 정의를 증거하는 일에 중점을 두고 미래로 나아가면서 지구를 회복시키고 보존하기 위해 일합니다. 현재 위원회 회원은 쉐론 카펜터 수녀, 로라 커글린 수녀, 페트리스 휴쥐스 수녀, 진이삭 수녀, 김미연 수녀, 이진영 수녀, 노헤레나 수녀, 박희춘 수녀, 메리 프라이스 수녀, 이디 스트롱 수녀 입니다.
